Make this creamy, sweet, and spicy whipped ricotta dip quickly for an impressive appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary (optional garnish)
  • Crusty bread, pita chips, or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the ricotta cheese, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper into a food processor.
  2. Process the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the ricotta is completely smooth and light.
  3. Transfer the whipped ricotta to a shallow serving bowl.
  4. Drizzle the 1/4 cup of hot honey evenly over the top of the dip.
  5. Garnish with chopped rosemary, if you are using it.
  6. Drizzle a small amount of extra olive oil over the dip just before serving.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of bread or chips.

Notes

  • For a thicker dip, drain excess liquid from the ricotta using a cheesecloth or fine-mesh sieve for 30 minutes before whipping.
  • If you do not have a food processor, you can use a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, but you may need to whip longer for the smoothest texture.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the dip for extra heat before drizzling the honey.
