Ingredients
Scale
1 lb salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
Prepare the Slaw: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, mayonnaise/yogurt, lime juice, adobo sauce, and sugar. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the salmon.
Prepare the Crema: Combine the avocado, sour cream/yogurt, lime juice, and salt in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth, adding water slowly until you reach a drizzly consistency. Set aside.
Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon cubes dry. Toss them gently with the olive oil and then coat them evenly with the blackened seasoning.
Air Fry the Salmon: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, taking care not to overcrowd.
Cook the Salmon: Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Warm Tortillas: Warm the tortillas according to package directions (a quick warm in a dry skillet or microwave works well).
Assemble Tacos: Layer each warm tortilla with a portion of the blackened salmon cubes. Top generously with the chipotle-lime slaw and drizzle with the avocado crema. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve immediately with lime wedges.
Notes
If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake the salmon at 400°F for 12-15 minutes or grill it over medium-high heat until done.
For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the avocado crema.
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor in both the slaw and the crema.
