Create delightful mini maple donuts at home. These bite-sized treats are perfect for a sweet breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared mini donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the donuts cool, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk in a small bowl until smooth. This is your maple glaze.
  9. Once the donuts are completely cool, dip each donut hole into the maple glaze, letting any excess drip off.
  10. Place the glazed donut holes back on the wire rack to allow the glaze to set.

Notes

  • For a stronger maple flavor, you can add a few drops of maple extract to the batter.
  • If you don’t have a mini donut pan, you can bake these in mini muffin tins, adjusting the baking time as needed.
  • Store leftover donut holes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
