Ingredients
Scale
4 cups water
4 green tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose leaf green tea)
1 cup fresh or frozen peach slices
1/2 cup peach simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Optional garnish: Lemon slices or mint sprigs
Instructions
Heat 2 cups of water to 175°F (80°C). Do not use boiling water for green tea.
Steep the green tea bags or loose leaf tea in the hot water for 3 minutes. Remove the tea and discard the bags or strain the leaves.
While the tea is still warm, add the peach slices to the brewed tea. Let the peaches steep for 15 minutes to infuse flavor.
Strain the tea mixture to remove the peach solids.
Stir in the peach simple syrup until fully dissolved.
Pour the remaining 2 cups of cold water into the tea concentrate.
Fill serving glasses with ice cubes. Pour the peach green tea over the ice.
Garnish with a lemon slice or mint sprig before serving immediately.
Notes
For peach simple syrup: Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup chopped peaches in a saucepan. Simmer until sugar dissolves and peaches soften. Strain and cool before use.
Use a high-quality green tea, such as Sencha or Jasmine Green Tea, for the best flavor base.
If you prefer a stronger peach flavor without adding more syrup, use peach puree instead of fresh slices during the steeping process.
