Make this simple, flavorful garlic parmesan chicken bake for a satisfying family dinner. It uses boneless chicken breasts baked in a rich, cheesy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, chicken broth, and minced garlic.
  5. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  6. Sprinkle 3/4 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the chicken and sauce.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. If you want a crispier top, sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese and the breadcrumbs over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs if you prefer a juicier texture.
  • For a low carb chicken bake, skip the breadcrumbs entirely.
  • Leftovers reheat well for lunch the next day.
