Make this quick and comforting one-skillet meal featuring ground beef, pasta, and a rich, creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. It is perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 ounces dry pasta (like rotini or penne)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Add the dry pasta to the skillet, stirring to submerge it in the liquid. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use a sturdy, oven-safe skillet if you plan to briefly melt the cheese under a broiler, though melting off the heat works well.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the beef broth with dry red wine and let it cook down before adding the pasta.
  • If the sauce seems too thick after adding the cheese, stir in a splash of milk or extra broth until you reach your desired consistency.
