Cook salmon fillets in the air fryer for a quick, healthy dinner with a crispy exterior and juicy, flaky interior.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve crispiness.
  2. Brush the salmon fillets lightly with olive oil on all sides.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top and sides of the salmon.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. If using skin-on, place skin-side down first.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the fillet. For thinner fillets, start checking at 9 minutes.
  7. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius).
  8. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For Teriyaki flavor, brush fillets with 1 tablespoon of teriyaki sauce during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • For Honey Garlic flavor, mix 1 teaspoon honey, 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, and a dash of paprika, then brush on before cooking.
  • If your fillets are very thick (over 1.5 inches), you may need to reduce the temperature to 380 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 13-15 minutes.
